Sixty Bricks was set up in 2018 by Waltham Forest Council to accelerate the delivery of affordable homes in the Borough.
In January 2023, the company completed its phase one pipeline, which saw it build 299 new homes in 5 locations across an 18-month period.
Off the back of that ambitious start, we are now upscaling our ambitions and progressing with our phase two building programme.
Sixty Bricks Team
Sixty Bricks is located in Fellowship Square, Waltham Forest Town Hall, Walthamstow.
Emma Osmundsen was appointed as its Chief Executive in January 2023, having joined Sixty Bricks from Exeter City Living. Raised in Wales with Norwegian roots, Emma has more than 25 years in the construction industry and is one of the leading global voices in the development and delivery of low-energy, healthy and climate resilient homes and buildings. She has been pioneering the Passivhaus standard for homes in the UK for past 15 years.
The operational delivery of the company is split between two teams of highly experienced and talented housing development, programme and project delivery experts.
Its New Business team focuses on the development of schemes up to the point Planning Consent is secured, while the other ensures the effective delivery of schemes through construction to practical completion.
The work of these teams is supported by a highly effective company finance function and communications resource.

As a relatively small but highly effective team we work collaboratively with partners to ensure our business values of financially sustainable, designing quality homes and delivering social through tailored and innovative solutions are at the heart of everything we do.
